Little Lost Forest Wand Workshop

Welcome to the Little Lost Forest Wand Workshop! Wand crafting is a wonderful way to connect with your body, enhance awareness, and engage with the four elements—water, fire, earth, and air. By channeling this energy, you’ll work harmoniously with nature to create a magick wand.
In this workshop, you’ll discover that when you center yourself, you’ll realize that Mother Nature, Gaia, can provide most of our needs. Overspending and the pursuit of material goods often work against nature. By working with nature, you’ll learn to collect materials from your natural environment, minimize waste and overconsumption, and become one with your habitat.
Join me, your host Natascha, as we embark on the foundational practices of wand crafting. You’ll select a stick sourced from the redwoods, home to some of the oldest trees on Earth. Most wands are made from driftwood, but some are sourced from the forest canopy. We will sand and stain the wood to your liking, and then you may choose a hemp wrap for the handle and attach a charm. You also have the option to include a stone thumb knob and a sparkle tip.
While crafting our wands, we’ll practice breathing and mindfulness, reflecting on the traits of the four elements and how we embody these traits in our personalities, enhancing our abilities as strong leaders.
Directions
A. Before sourcing driftwood and wand material thank mother earth for her contribution to your practice. Leave an offering, never take more than you need, and return whatever is unused.
B. Wash the driftwood and heat it in the oven at 250 for 20 minutes to kill bacteria. Sand and stain wood.
C. Choose an element and plan out a design.
D. Use hemp to wrap your handle.
E. Use glue to stabilize hemp.
F. Dip the tip in adhesive and cover in sparkles!
G. Now include a charm by gluing on a piece of stone or tie on a charm!
Elementals
When calling out on the four directions, imagine the characteristics, creatures, or beings that connect with that element.

North: Earth: green, winter, child, strength, body, gnomes, buffalo

East: Air: yellow, spring, youth, intellect, mind, fairies, eagle

South: Fire: red, summer, middle age, will, heart, will-o-the-whisp,

West: Water: blue, fall, elder, emotion, body fluids (blood and water), mermaid, bear, wolf
Practice
Set up your circle with candles in the four directions. Open up your practice by sweeping your circle. Starting at the North Welcome in each elemental, “Elementals of the North, I welcome you,” and continue around the circle. Sitting in the center of your circle thank the “above,” the cosmos, for coming to your practice, and thank the “below” that is Mother Earth, and last of all thank “Inward,” yourself, for showing up. Sit in meditation. When the meditation has finished, say good bye to the four directions and close the circle.
